Women’s March on Washington

After a 22 hour day covering the inauguration of President Trump, I picked up an assignment to cover the Women’s March on Washington for United Press International. And as everyone knows, I love a protest. I have never seen so many people at a protest. A couple of other colleagues of mine have also said they have never seen a protest that large.

The Women’s March on Washington was part of a worldwide protest held on January 21, 2017, with the main protest in Washington, DC, the day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. It was prompted by several of Trump’s statements during the campaign that were considered by many as anti-women or otherwise offensive to women.

Its goal was to “send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights”.

It is said to be the largest single-day protest in U.S. history.

The marchers came from across the country to make a public stand against President Donald Trump, who they say insults women and issues they care about. 1. i am sorry to piggyback on your photo-journalism site. I am looking to take a tour of the Gullah community, learn of the history, eat the food and understand this part of our American Heritage and history. Does Dennis give a tour? can you point me in the right direction? we would also be interested in a cooking class.

It would be a Mother who lives in Seattle, and her Daughter (who lives in Atlanta)
