I don’t photograph sports much anymore. In another life I was a golf photographer covering the professional golf tours for 15 years.
This week, I was on assignment for the Washington Post and UPI this past week covering the Quicken Loans National golf tournament in Potomac, Maryland, near Washington, D.C.
A large part of the week was chasing Tiger Woods around the golf course with heat in the mid-ninties and high humidity. It was pretty damn miserable.
Tiger, who is in the process of getting his game back to what it used to be before multiple back surgeries, is also the host of the event. It was a strange feeling knowing I photographed him when he was still in college back in the 90’s
He shot 70, 65, 68, 66 to finish tied for 4th place.
