2020 Year in Review

To say that 2020 was a difficult year would be an understatement of epic proportions.

Of course the COVID-19 pandemic was forefront in the news and affecting all aspects of life. Add in the extreme partisanship of the presidential election, the deaths of Rep. John Lewis, a towering figure in the struggle for civil rights in the United States and the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and it seemed as though the bad news would not stop coming.

The year got off to a contentious start politically with the impeachment trial of President Trump which ended with his acquittal by the U.S. Senate.

My election year coverage got off to a typical election year start when I traveled to Iowa to cover the Iowa Caucuses. Lots of driving and long days, but a fun time.

Of course the year ended with the election and President Trump calling it “stolen.”

In between it was all COVID all the time.

Assignment work was limited due to the pandemic, and the desire to stay safe kept me from doing too much personal work.

Presented here are some of the images from my 2020 coverage.
