A young girl runs past an old J&L company home that is slated for demolition in West Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Aliquippa is the former location of a one of the largest steel mills in the world, the Jones and Laughlin Aliquippa Works occupied a seven mile stretch along the Ohio River. The city now has fewer residents than the steel mill had employees (14,000) in its heyday. By 1989, most of the production facilities were closed before shuttering for good in the early nineties.
